Changes…
So I am really going to try to keep this letter short and sweet, as I am preparing to start a new thing very soon. I will shortly be launching a podcast series in addition to the monthly newsletters I have been writing, to share all the fun stories and lessons learned throughout my missionary journey! This is for the sake of keeping the monthly newsletter more concise and informative, while I am embarking on a new adventure in orality with the Oral Bible Translation (OBT) school here in Kona… Stay tuned for more updates regarding the podcast series coming soon!

News
The month of October was a huge transition for me, coming back to Kona after three months at home with my family was challenging, especially since I am now at the YWAM Ships/Port Kona campus instead of YWAM Kona/University of the Nations location. Everything is so different here, and it has been hard for me to get used to these changes, but the Lord has seriously given me the grace to transition well, and I am really learning to trust in Him more through the process. I am absolutely loving the OBT school, and learning so much about how to communicate the love of God accross cultural and linguistic barriers. We truly have the best teachers in the world – one of our teachers is literally one of the three most distinguished linguists in the world (try saying “distinguished linguists” five times fast) – and I am really soaking it all up. I have been trying to not take notes despite how hard that is, for the purpose of learning how to communicate and synthesize information orally (a huge part of the Oral Bible Translation process), and I am starting to see how limited we are in the text-based world when we have to carry around our brains (notebooks) everywhere we go just to remember what we have learned. I am learning how to learn in new and exciting ways, and trusting God through the process!
Nexts
After we graduate from our lecture phase on December 20th, I am planning to come back to Washington for about a week to visit family and friends during the holiday. Then, I will go back to Kona to join the “O-B-Team,” as we travel together to Papua New Guinea for approximately three months, during which time we will have the privilege of serving two different people groups as they work with us to complete the oral translations of the Book of Ruth in their own heart languages! This is the first time that these people groups will have Scriptures from the Old (Original) Testament in their mother tongues! I am so excited to be a part of this team, and to be able to help shape the history of these nations in giving them access to Scripture in their own languages, it is such a high honor and privilege for us to be invited to work on these projects and I hope that you are moved by the heart of God to partner with us in this next few months as we pray for the nation of Papua New Guinea, and the many Bibleless languages who are still in desperate need of the Word of God… Together, we truly can End Bible Poverty Now!
Needs
I first want to give a huge thanks to all of those who have supported me in stepping into this new journey with Oral Bible Translation and the End Bible Poverty Now movement, we are all taking part in God’s plan to give access to Scripture to every nation, tribe, and tongue on Earth NOW! I was so blessed to be able to come to Kona with my lecture phase fully funded by the jobs I did over the Summer and the support I received from anonymous donors from Harbor City Church, as well as those who partner with me on a monthly basis. Thank God! I am now preparing to go on outreach to Papua New Guinea (PNG) at the end of December with the O-B-Team, and so far I have raised $1000 out of the $5000 total cost, which is AMAZING!!! Currently, I still need to build my monthly support to take care of living expenses while I am preparing for long-term mission work in the nations. I invite you to prayerfully consider partnering with me financially for the long-term, or for as long as you feel the Lord is leading you to commit if you are able. However, I also am asking that you please pray and ask the Lord how much you can give as a one-time gift to support our efforts in raising a total of $50,000 for our entire outreach team to be able to go and translate the Bible in PNG this Winter. I truly honor your heart in prayerfully considering how you can support the work that we are doing to End Bible Poverty in the nations, and I trust that the seeds sown in prayer and financial partnership will bear lasting fruit in the Kingdom of Heaven for many generations to come.
