Coming Home
Being home in Washington has been very restful, restorative, and refreshing for the past couple of months! I am so grateful for the time I am getting to spend with my family and friends, and the opportunity to worship the Lord together with my church family at Harbor City Church. Everyone needs time to rest, and it is very important to slow down and listen to God when He is creating that space for us. This moment in my life has been helpful for me to see the bigger picture and start taking steps toward the future. Today I just want to share some of the things that God has been inspiring in my heart and the steps that I am taking to prepare for the next season…
For everything there is a season and a time for every matter under heaven.”
Ecclesiastes 3:1 (ESV)
Next Steps
The next steps coming up for me feel pretty big honestly, and there has been a lot of deeper revelation coming to me about the call to missions and the cost that is associated with that, both physically, spiritually, and emotionally. In taking this time to consider if I am willing to do what it takes to follow this call, God has helped me to recognize some of the beliefs that I hold which are primary to the mission that I am called to.
First, I believe that our mission as believers is to reach every language, tribe, people, and nation with the Gospel, and this requires access to the Word of God as a foundation for discipleship and relationship with Jesus. I really believe that everyone has the right to have access to Scripture, yet not everyone has the privilege of receiving this access currently. This is why we are working in the ministry of Bible translation and interpreting to get the Word to all people everywhere, in a form that they can use and apply in their lives, regardless of culture, type of education, or personal background.
Secondly, I believe that God is inviting me to assist in building bridges between the Discipleship Making Movements (DMM), Oral Mother Tongue (OMT), and Oral Bible Translation (OBT) ministries. If you haven’t heard these terms before, don’t worry, I am working on creating a page where you can learn more about these different ministries, and it is currently in the approval process to be released (more updates soon). This revelation about the “bridge” came through the Word of the Lord, and the many, timely conversations I have had with the leaders God has placed in my life over the past two years inside of YWAM. I really believe that God wants me to step into this role as a bridge builder between people, ministries, and nations, and to help facilitate the connection points which are going to be released for our benefit and the furthering of the Kingdom of God. I don’t exactly know what that means yet, to be quite honest, but I know that this is what God has been speaking to me for a while now. I trust that all of these things will be revealed in God’s timing.
To make these ideas and motivations practical, God has called me to the nations of South Africa and South Sudan. This has been one of the prayer points I’ve been seeking God in for over a year now, and it is finally starting to take shape in a very real way. I have been in close contact with the leaders of the YWAM Potch (South Africa) and YWAM Juba (South Sudan) bases, and through the conversations I have had with them, prayers I have prayed, and the counsel of my leadership, I have decided to make the move to South Africa this September 2023! I hope that many of you reading this are as excited as I am to receive this news, and I pray that through your prayers and financial support we will be able to walk this road together towards the long-term calling of missions that God has placed on my life. I believe that God will provide all that we need and more for His Word to be accomplished in and through us, and by His grace I know that the fruit of the work we will do will be multiplied 30, 60 and 100-fold! Praise God!

Updates & Prayer Points
So I have a few things that I am still waiting for, such as visas and flights (please pray for this), but I am confident of the steps that God has given me to take thus far, so this is what I plan on. Please pray with me for all of these plans to be blessed by the hand of God:
- April 31st – May 13th, I was at YWAM Los Angeles for an OBT workshop called the “Storality Seminar” (I will be sharing more about the outcomes of this in an upcoming post).
- September 1st (-ish), I will be traveling to South Africa to help with training students to become oral Bible translation facilitators. This will be the beginning of my relationship with the YWAM Potch base. During this time, I will also be interning at the base with the potential of partnering with them in a more long-term role. After the three-month training school, we are planning to take a team of students to help with facilitating translation projects in Uganda and/or South Sudan. Please add this to your prayer list as we are still hoping to get more students. Contend with us for this.

Communication
Just wanted to make sure that you all know I recently deleted all social media, in an effort to refine my communication channels. I would much rather build relationships with the friends and family who are walking with me in a personal way by phone or email than by posting on a social network, and I really do care about each person that I connect with here, so if you want to be connected please send me a message and I will be sure to send you the best ways for us to stay in touch:
I will be excited to receive your message, and I will follow up with you so we can stay connected during my travels!
I will end this letter with a word of prayer from the Apostle Paul:
“For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in your knowledge of Him. I ask that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you may know the hope of His calling, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints, and the surpassing greatness of His power to us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of His mighty strength, which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God put everything under His feet and made Him head over everything for the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.”
Ephesians 1:15-23 BSB
